It’s never too early to encourage children into the garden. Most little ones love to have their own little plot or couple of tubs, and can help with every part of the process from adding compost, weeding, digging and planting to watering and harvesting. Brightly coloured, easy to grow flowers such as marigolds are perfect for children to start with, or you could try edible crops such as rocket, strawberries or tomatoes.
We’ve picked out our top ten gardening accessories to help your budding Monty Don off to a flying start.

These are so cool. My niece loves helping out in the garden!
Some of those are really cute! Is it weird that I would like that apron?!
Oh, how I wish I had a little girl! In the meantime, my fur-babies, Grace, and Luna like to garden as well. NOT! Digging and such. UGH!
I love that this nurtures children’s creativity and teaches them where food comes from. Gardening with my Great Grandfather as a child taught me more life lessons than anything else anyone ever did for me growing up. He passed away when I was 11 but he continues to teach me invaluable lessons from those experiences with him all these 22 years later. Gardening to a child is pure magic, and the precious quality time… that’s priceless.
