Mohair Throws For Cosy Warmth

Although we love lighter seasons, we are Cosy Home after all. There’s always room for softness, warmth, and a little everyday luxury in the home. Few things deliver that as effortlessly as a beautiful throw, especially one made from mohair.

This year, we’re turning our attention to mohair throws for their unique combination of warmth, lightness, and understated glamour. Whether draped over a sofa, folded at the end of a bed, or wrapped around your shoulders on a cool evening, a mohair throw instantly makes a space feel more inviting. It’s one of those simple additions that elevates both comfort and style without trying too hard.

What is mohair?

If you’re not familiar with this luxurious fibre, it’s made from the fleece of Angora goats. It’s very soft and warm and has a distinctive sheen which sets it apart from sheep’s wool. It’s often used in high-end knitwear such as socks and sweaters, which are fine and warm. It’s popular for many reasons. It’s natural and sustainable, soft and durable. The density of its fibres makes it warm without being bulky, and it takes dye very well giving some intense colour options.

The main disadvantage is its cost, but it’s very durable and lasts well. As well as some real mohair throws, we’ve added a selection of faux mohair options. While these aren’t as warm, durable or unusual, they’re more accessible in terms of price and are usually machine washable.

We’ve chosen a range of mohair throws in both bright and natural colourways – you’ll be thanking us on a chilly day!
