Some projects are cheaper during these three months of the year, and if you get them done now, you can relax and rest over the course of the winter! Whilst spring is the most common time to renovate and upgrade your home, the summer (usually) offers the best weather to get things done, especially if you want to make any big structural differences! With that in mind, here are three home upgrades that could be cheaper to do ASAP.
Roof Replacement
Replacing the roof is a big deal, seeing as you’re ripping off the entirety of the top of your house! That makes it a pretty expensive job no matter what, but you can knock the price down a little if you get it done during the summer.
Most people wait until nearly the end of the year to do it, just in time for winter and all that cold and rain that brings, but you can get your home into a contractor’s diary right now as well. And remember, this is an upgrade that pays for itself over time – roofs are usually replaced every 25 years or so. But if you’ve noticed extensive weather damage in the past few months and your roof is younger than that, now’s the time to get a new one fitted
Solar Panel Installation
It might seem like the opposite, seeing as the summer is the time when solar panels have more than enough sunshine to produce energy, but you can get the full length and breadth of solar panel servicing during the middle months of the year. All you need to do is get in touch with a reliable provider or two and get some quotes from them.
After all, most people install solar panels in the springtime in preparation for summer, but you can wait until mid or late summer to get them fitted as well. If you do, you might see a lower price than you did when you checked a few months ago – you might even see as much as 30% knocked off of the price.
Garden Landscape Adjustments
Garden landscaping is a nice home project to get done, seeing as it’s not technically something you need to invest in to live happily in your home. However, if you’ve decided it’s time to overhaul the garden and you want a nice new landscape to look over, book one in during the summer period.
Why? Because it’s a lot cheaper than getting one done in late May, when the idea occurs to most other people! Most people like to get the garden ready to enjoy during summer, but wait until the rush dies down by saving this project until July and you won’t pay anywhere near as much.
