Vintage cake stands
We love a good bargain and one great site where you can hunt for vintage homeware and home accessories is Preloved.
Specialising in second hand goods, the site offers free advertising for members and has listings for a wide range of items.
We had a browse around the Furniture and Fittings section and came across this pair of vintage cake stands. It’s nice to be able to find a matching pair in good condition and they seem reasonably priced at £30 (ONO) for the pair.

Tea towel
It hasn’t taken long for Royal Wedding commemorative memorabilia to hit the shops, but whilst some of it is a tad on the tacky side, there are some more covetable items to be had.
We rather like the design of this tea towel, by Hunkydory Home, which features two lovebirds on the branch of a leafy tree.
The tea towel features the date and location of the Royal Wedding and costs £14 from Hunkydory Home.

Crochet beanbag seat
‘Crochet’ and ‘beanbag’ aren’t normally two words that you find in the same sentence, but that’s the case with this colourful vintage style beanbag from M&S.
Part of their new spring 2011 range, the multi coloured crochet bean bag is handmade and features an array of colourful wool flowers all over it. The beanbag measures 55cm by45cm and, as well as providing a useful additional seat or foot stool, it’s a nice design piece to have in your home.
Marks and Spencer currently have a special home and furniture event running, so until the 27th February you can take advantage of getting 20% off the usual price. Various other beanbags and pouffes are included in the offer too, as well as lots of other homeware.

Blue ceramic vase
Also Home have a new range in stock of blue fish design ceramics, which are in the style of traditional Vietnamese ceramics.
A lot of their collection focuses around dinnerware, but we spotted this cylinder vase too, which is a bit of a bargain.
The vase is handpainted with shoals of fish swimming around it and is 19cm in height. When you’re not using it as a vase, we reckon it would double up as a useful kitchen utensils or accessories pot.
The blue fish cylinder vase was £20, but is now priced at only £12 from Also Home.

It’s not quite camping and picnics weather yet, but it’s great to plan for when it is!
If you’re in need of some new bowls or plates for picnic or outdoor eating, then Pedlars have some colourful new options in stock.
These bowls and plates are all made from hard-wearing melamine, so they can withstand accidental drops or knocks. All of the items are sold individually and you can take your pick and mix and match the designs.
They’re so nice that you may not want to save them for picnics, in which case they’d be great for use inside too and have the added benefit of being dishwasher safe.
The bowls and melamine side plates are both £9.75 from Pedlars.

Colourful floral tub chair
The tub design of chairs continue to be a popular style and this chair, with its lively pink orchid floral patterned design, would work very well as a feature or focal point in a lounge.
If pink floral isn’t quite you, then the Quartz tub chair is also available in five other plain or patterned fabrics.
There’s a small saving of £20 on the price of the chair at the moment, and it will set you back £219 from DFS.

Soft linen cushion
For those of you on the search for homeware bargains, many sites still have sale sections in action this month. At Feather and Black, they’ve got various pieces of furniture and home accessories listed in their sale section, including lots of lovely cushions.
This sage green lily cushion caught our eye, for example. Made from soft linen, it features a simple repeated embroidered outline design of a flower along the front, and has small shell buttons on the back.
The lily sage cushion was £25, but is now £19 at Feather and Black.

Decorative screen
If you’ve got a large room where you want to divide the space temporarily, or an area of a room that you’d like to partition off (or hide clutter!), then a portable screen that you can move around as you wish is perfect.
This lovely wooden screen, with its hand carved lattice work design, has four well sized sections for all your screening needs.
It folds down easily when it’s not in use and the white colour and lattice work panels help bring light into a room (although dark and solid screens work well in some rooms, they can also make a room appear darker than it is).
The hand carved wooden decorative screen is available from Graham and Green and costs £299.

Heart shaped bowl and spoon
We’re loving all the heart-shaped and heart-themed homeware in the shops at the moment, but they’re certainly not only suitable for Valentine’s Day romantic gestures.
Oh no, items like this lovely red heart shaped stoneware bowl, by Swedish firm Sagaform, would be great to use as a serving bowl any time of the year. It comes with an eco friendly bamboo spoon (they call it a ladle, but we think it’s definitely more spoon-like), which is also heart shaped and fits into the bowl perfectly.
The Sagaform heart bowl is £35 from John Lewis.

Coloured bowls
These lovely little wooden bowls are painted in a selection of very shabby chic style colours – pale blue, dusty green, pink and cream – and look lovely simply stacked together.
But they could also have lots of practical uses too, such as for nibbles at parties or for keeping bracelets or other jewellery in. Measuring 6 inches in diameter, the bowls are handmade from mango wood and, if you don’t want a painted colour, there’s a completely natural bowl available too.
The Bimbi bowls are £14 each and are available to purchase from Nkuku.
