Cosy up with a cushion
Cushions are great for helping create a cosy home, and can be added to sofas, chairs or beds. In addition to being comfortable to lean back against, there’s something comforting about cuddling a cushion on a chilly evening (especially if you don’t have anyone else to cuddle up with!).
This unusual hand knit pocket cushion embraces the trend for knitted cushions, but also makes the cushion cuddling concept even warmer, as it has a cosy pocket included in the design. When you wrap your arms around this cushion, you can pop them in the pocket and keep them warm too!
The cushion is made from 100% lambswool and is available in three colours – grey marl, mink and navy.
Best of all, it’s kinder to your wallet, as the cushion is currently half price in the sale, from Laark, the brand founded by knitwear designer, Jenny Lam.

Clay decorations
These handmade clay decorations are rather special and a lot of work has gone into making each one.
Each decoration is individually cut from hand, air dried and hand painted on each side with intricate decorative detail. I love both the bird designs (which could be used and enjoyed all year round), but the stars are really nice and seasonal too. They’d make a lovely addition to a tree and come threaded with ribbon.
The clay Christmas decorations are made by Zosienka and Rosie Illustration and can be individually purchased for £15 each.

If you’re not blessed with a granny who can knit or crochet, and haven’t mastered the art yourself, then Rocket and Bear are on hand with this fantastic granny square blanket.
Made from a selection of vibrant colours – including red, purple, blue, green, white, grey and orange – the granny square blanket is crocheted from a soft cotton yarn.
The blanket measures 130cm x 130cm and will be perfect for snuggling up in on a cold winter’s night.
You can buy the multi coloured granny square blanket for £65 from Rocket and Bear.

Seed pod design jug
Ceramic artist, Julia Davey, has a lovely selection of items available in her handmade tableware collection – we’re particularly attracted to her seed pod designs.
The hand decorated seed pod milk jug is just one of the items in the range and it’s made from slip cast earthenware. The seed pod design is inspired by the children’s game, “What’s the time, Mister Wolf?” and some of the seeds are shown blowing around the mug, as if blowing in the wind.
The seed pod milk jug costs £19 and is available from Julia’s Folksy store, or various other retailers, including From The Wilde.

Pretty flower picture
We discovered Original Cloth thanks to the wonderful Follow Friday #ff feature on Twitter. Lissa Herd, who runs Original Cloth, specialises in putting scraps of leftover fabric to very good use, by recycling and crafting them into new items.
Amongst her offerings are various items for the home, including some very attractive cushions and wallhangings.
Our eye was caught by this recycled fabric picture, which is adorned with an array of colourful fabric flowers and so-called Suffolk puffs. The centre of some of the flowers are accented with buttons and it would be a really nice picture to hang in your home.
The floral fabric picture is priced at only £12, as are the cushions, and you can buy them from the Original Cloth shop on Etsy.

Scottie dog trivet
This unusual wooden trivet or pot holder is hand cut from Scottish hardwoods.
The end result – a very cute looking Scottie dog – is amazingly realistic!
The trivet has been treated with Danish oil to ensure it’s fully heatproof, but if you can’t bear the thought of putting hot pans on this little fella, you could always keep him for decorative purposes only.
The Scottie dog trivet is made by Dach Crafts and can be purchased from Wow Thank You for £20 (it’s made to order, so allow one week for it to be handcrafted).
If a dog isn’t quite your cup of tea, check out the range of other designs they make.

Handmade ceramic bowl
If you’re keen to create a haven in the comfort of your home, then this handmade porcelain bowl shares that sentiment.
Twirling around the inside of the bowl are the words: “Home – a haven from a hurried world, filled with peace and grace.” The design is finished off with a rustic sprig of flowers and a few small hearts.
Even if you’ve not quite achieved the peace and grace element in your home, it’s a sweet sentiment and would make a nice gift for new home owners.
The Home is a Haven bowl is made by Corn Kist Ceramics and costs £15.

Purple tree and horse design plate
We’ve recently heard about the site Seek and Adore, which is bursting at the seams with beautiful handmade items for your home, plus lovely accessories.
You’ll find a wide range of designers and crafters on the site, all selling lots of inspiring and tempting items.
Amongst the many items we spotted and loved is this unusual handmade plate by Georgina Fowler. The plate is made from slip cast white earthenware and is decorated with a pretty purple tree and horse design – it’s not surprising to note that Georgina is inspired by fairy tales, as there’s an element of magic and intrigue in the design.
The small purple tree horse plate can be purchased from Georgina’s store on Seek and Adore for £36.
For more inspirational home accessories and product ideas, check out Seek and Adore.
