These wonderful old wooden trays, which are available in sizes small, medium and large, were originally the print type trays used by printers to store all their individual letters.
As you can see, each tray has lots of different sized compartments and plenty of storage. The trays would work fine used flat on a surface, or in a drawer, but one rather clever way of using the trays is to mount them on the wall to serve a decorative wall display. You can pop all your favourite trinkets and treasures in the tray slots and display them in your home.
The vintage printer type trays are sold by Velvet Ribbon with prices starting at £55 for the small tray.

Both bookends are decorated with a palm tree and a dinosaur – one blue and one green – and both have rather cheeky expressions!

The pair of dinosaur bookends are £9.95 from Beautiful Things.

Make heart shaped muffins
This nifty silicone baking baking tray comes in the shape of a heart with six mini heart shapes inside, so you can bake your own heart shaped muffins or cakes.
In theory, when you’re using silicone baking trays, your freshly baked muffins should be easy to release and remove and the tray is safe for use at high oven temperatures.
The red silicone heart muffin tray is £7.50 from Marks and Spencer.

I love the colourful sheep designs that illustrator Mary Kilvert produces.
As well as being available as a sheep fine art print and sheep cushion, the quirky design has also been transformed into a wonderful tea towel.
The fabulous flock of sheep, with their multicoloured wool and cute facial expressions, look great on the tea towel and would making drying the dishes that bit more interesting.
The linen and cotton colourful sheep tea towel costs £12 from Mary Kilvert’s shop.
To find out more about Mary Kilvert’s and her lovely illustrations, then we’d recommend checking out her blog.

Black lacquer coffee table
Coffee tables that provide storage underneath are fantastic for storing magazines, newspapers, toys and books and ensuring you can always clear off the top surface in a flash and hide it underneath if unexpected visitors arrive!
This black lacquer Canton coffee table from Lombok is a good size (120cm by 80cm by 45cm) and has a nice sturdy shelf underneath for all your storage needs.
The table is handcraftd from hardwood American ash, which is lacquered in black and given a slight distressed effect.
Along the top of the table are a few small inscribed brass panels, which give the table an Eastern feel (these could easily be covered over with coasters or a small table runner if you’re not so keen on them).
The Canton coffee table currently has £100 off the usual price in the Lombok sale (ends Mon 24th January), so is now priced at £295.

Mirror table with drawers
A good piece of mirrored furniture makes me drool. It’s something that needs to be used in moderation, but a few select pieces can look stunning in a room, not least as they add extra light and reflections to a dark corner.
The sale continues at Laura Ashley, and they’ve now added an extra 10% off existing sale prices. The Gatsby range of mirrored furniture all has further reductions, including this mirrored side table with drawers, which has now has 55% off the original price.
Described as a bedside table, the piece has three really useful drawers where you could store your bedside reading or other clutter, and it’s finished off with dark feet.
Originally priced at £350, the Gatsby side table is now only £175 at Laura Ashley.
Other pieces in the Gatsby mirrored range include a chest of drawers (now £500), an elegant dressing table (now £287.50), a small chest of drawers (now £450) and a tall chest of drawers (£400).

These exclusive cushion covers come in a pale rose pink shade, with a stylish ruffle in one corner, and are currently reduced in the sale at Urban Outfitters.
They were originally £25 each, but are now down to only £10 each. They’d be perfect for a girly boudoir.

The Dream Collection of furniture from Graham and Green is one of my favourites – and there’s even more to love at the moment, as there’s 20% off.
The Dream chair is a wonderful, comfortable and cosy armchair for relaxing in at home. If you watched the recent House Gift series on ITV1, then you may well recognise the Dream chair, as it was one of the lovely house gifts chosen and gifted by interior designer, Danielle Proud.
Designed by Jamie Graham, the chair is made and upholstered in England. The frame and legs of the chair are made from beech wood and the chair is padded with a filling of feathers and fibres, to provide extreme comfort, then finished off with a luxurious velvet in a choice of colours.
All the furniture is made to order (it takes approximately 6 to 10 weeks) and you can even have your own choice of fabric used if you wish.
Usually priced at £1250, the velvet Dream armchair is now down to the round figure of £1000 and is available in cornflower blue, midnight blue, aubergine, purple, raspberry and mink from Graham and Green.
