Greengate melamine sylvia beaker

Floral melamine mug

Floral melamine mug

Greengate are renowned for their appealing homeware products, and this Sylvia melamine beaker is no exception.

The hardwearing melamine means that it would be perfect for using outside in the garden, or if you’re out and about on picnics, but there’s no reason why you can’t use it in the home too.

Even though it’s intended to be a drinking vessel, we rather like the idea of adopting this piece as a pen pot and think it would like great filled with pens and pencils on a desk.

You can buy the Sylvia melamine beaker, plus similar pieces in other designs, from Berry Red.

Cath Kidston labels and stickers set

Scrummy labels

Scrummy labels

I’m totally in love with this labels and sticker set from Cath Kidston!

I first found them in a little local shop and purchased a set as a gift for someone, but loved the idea so much that I’ve bought myself a set too (and another one as another present – can you spot a theme?).

The little flapover case opens up to reveal a plethora of stickers and labels – over 200 of them, in fact. Some are in the classic Cath Kidston patterned and floral designs, others are in plain colours, such as red, pink and blue, some have ‘to’ and ‘from’ on them, making them perfect for use on gifts, whilst others are left plain.

I’m planning to use mine as posh freezer labels, as I never seem to have labels to hand when I want to make a note of what I’m freezing, and for using on homemade jams, chutneys and other edibles. I can also see some of the labels as being useful for card making, but there are plenty of other possible uses too.

The labels and stickers set costs £6 if you buy it direct from Cath Kidston (and cost a similar price in my local shop), but savvy buyers should head to Amazon, where it’s available for the fabulous price of only £3.76. Bargain!

Reduced price blue spotty towel bale set

Spotty towels

Spotty towels

Towels and other accessories are a great way of adding colour into the bathroom, especially as they can easily be changed if you decide to introduce a new colour scheme.

This set of blue and white polka dot towels would be ideal if you’d like a bit of colour in your bathroom, but don’t want to go overboard on it. Some of the towels are left plain white, whilst others have various bluey shades of polka dots on them. You could use them all at once, to create a mix and match approach, mix them with other blue towels or simply have the matching towels in use at any one time.

The Christy towel bale set consists of six pieces – two bath towels, two hand towels and two face cloths – and it benefits from being significantly reduced in the Debenhams homeware sale. It started off life as costing £50 and is now only £15.
