The shops are full of Christmas decorations and advent calendars, but for something a bit different that will last for years, we rather like the look of this Christmas advent village.
The advent village consists of a wooden shelf unit filled with four rows of mini snow covered houses. Each house is numbered from one to 24, with wreaths or decorations on their doors.
The roof of each house can be removed, so you can fill the inside with sweets, chocolates or other small gifts, which can then be opened each day during advent.
It’s a lovely way of counting down the days to Christmas and, compared to a single use advent calendar, this one can be re-used and enjoyed year after year. We can imagine it becoming a popular family tradition.
