Glover & Smith handmade pewter leaf bowl and spoon

Handmade in Britain decorative pewter leaf bowl

Pewter leaf bowl

This little beauty caught my eye earlier on – the little leaf shaped bowl and accompanying twig spoon are made from pewter and would be an unusual way of serving something special on a dinner table.

The leaf bowl is very realistic and I love the way the sides are slightly curled up and the veins of the leaf are apparent. The spoon handle is styled on a twig and it looks like it’s freshly dropped off a tree.

I’d use it serve pickles or chutneys in, or perhaps clotted cream for desserts. As both pieces are made of lead-free pewter (a pewter that doesn’t go grey), they’re fine for using with all manner of foodstuffs. When not in use, they’d be fabulous simply left out for decorative purposes.

This lovely piece is handmade in Britain by Ed and Judy Glover (nee Smith), from their studio in Wiltshire. The set costs £29.50 from the Glover & Smith store on Not On The High Street. For something as pretty and unusual as this, it seems like a pretty reasonable price.

I also really like their oak leaf napkin rings (£22.95), oak leaf cupboard handle (absolutely adorable! £14.95) and little birdy spoon too.
