At Cosy Home Blog, we’re big fans of vintage china and are rather partial to cake stands too. So it was rather exciting to come across a new venture which not only combines vintage china and cake stands, but also creates bespoke pieces too.
Let Them Eat Cake sells one-off vintage cake stands of all shapes and sizes. All the stands are unique, as they design and make the stands themselves (what a fun job!), from lovely mismatched pieces of vintage china.
Some of them are made up of plates, as you’d expected from tiered cake stands, whilst others have a cup added to the third tier, for that extra quirky look.
The Regency Tea three tier cake stand has a base plate measuring 230mm, with a distinctive pink design and a middle floral plate with a navy ribbon edge. It’s topped off with a vintage floral cup and saucer and costs £65.
They’re not all tiered cake stands though, there are some really nice pedestal stands too, such as this 1920s ‘Woodland Walk’ stand (£35), which has a nice green glass base.
But if you’ve browsed the options on offer and nothing quite takes your fancy, or if you’ve got your own collection of favourite pieces of china that you’d like recycled, then Let Them Eat Cake can create your own very special bespoke cake stand.
This is a great idea, and one of best vintage china recycling initiatives we’ve come across recently. It’s especially good if you’d like something special to match your exsiting china, or to give as a gift. Find out more about their bespoke cake stand designing service here.
