Enamel recycling cabinet
Recycling bins aren’t always the most stylish of items, but this unusual double recycling bin puts a new perspective on rubbish.
Made from enamel, this tall and slim double bin is made in the style of a filing cabinet. But rather than filing away your documents, the two compartments each open up to reveal a 13 litre bin inside, which is perfect for using to store and separate your items for recycling.
The recycling storage bin would fit in perfectly in a shabby chic or country home, where you could ensure at least some of your items for recycling are stored well out of sight.
The retro double recycling bin is available to purchase from Rose & Grey.

Stylish jewellery storage
There’s nothing worse than necklaces that get all tangled up in a drawer. The best way of storing necklaces is to hang them and this elegant gold bird branch jewellery stand is perfect for your boudoir dressing table.
The small tree has a large branch, plus several smaller ‘twigs’ going off it, which are ideal for hanging necklaces or bracelets from. The stand measures 25cm in height and is made of mixed metals, finished off with a gold colour.
You’ll find the bird jewellery stand available exclusively from Urban Outfitters, where it costs £25.

Round wine bottle storage rack
If you love antiques, then the Tudor Rose Antiques and Interiors website is well worth a browse – it’s packed with lots of gorgeous items and unusual finds.
They have a shop in Petworth, East Sussex, but if you spot something you love on their site, you can phone or email for details of buying it and shipping can be arranged.
We rather like the look of this old oak round bottle holder. It holds six bottles and can be used on a table or sideboard. It’s a nice alternative to a modern wine rack and costs £265.
You can keep up-to-date with some of the new items available at Tudor Rose Antiques and Interiors by following their blog.

Russian doll, or babushka, images continue to be a popular design in homeware products.
This set of three metal tins has the characteristic russian doll design on each of them. The tins vary in size from small, to medium to large and come in three coordinating colours.
The babushka tins currently have 20% off the usual price and are available from Bouf.

Coat hook
This decorative iron hook would look just the part in your hall, serving a multitude of hanging needs.
There’s space for coats, scarves and hats, and you could even hang an umbrella on the hooks too. Made of sturdy iron, the five hooks are attached to the metal base, but can be moved around as required.
It’s a lovely piece – a design statement in its own right – and is perfect for a cosy home. The decorative iron multi hook is £16 from The Chic Country Home.

Interior designers Colin and Justin (Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan) sell their Influence homeware range exclusively at Matalan.
With their homeware stocked by Matalan, you can be sure that the prices will be affordable, which is great if you’re shopping on a budget. The style is certainly not compromised though, and everything looks good and is nicely produced.
Three of the new Colin and Justin pieces recently available from Matalan include the brown floral bin, jewelled drawers and jewelled trunk.
The jewelled drawers in particular are very nice – each of the four drawers is finished with a jewel-like handle in varying colours – and there’s plenty of useful storage space inside. It would be great for use in a bedroom, lounge or hall and the piece is priced at £40.
The matching jewelled trunk (£60) would also be ideal for storage purposes and the brown floral bin is a bargain at only £8.

Lidded storage jar
I can think of lots of things that I’d put in this useful storage jar. It would be great to keep in the cupboard, or use out on the table for serving sugar or jam.
Made of ceramic, the white pot is sold by Sorbet Living and currently has 50% off the original price. At only £7, it’s a great buy.

Cutlery organisation
This great little willow basket is perfect for getting your cutlery organised. There are four compartments in the 15cm by 15cm basket that should cover all your basic cutlery needs (knives, forks, spoons and teaspoons), plus it has a useful handle, that makes it easy to carry to the table.
I’d use the basket indoors, as it would look great on my sideboard, but you could also make use of the handle to easily transport cutlery outdoors, to use for summer outdoor dining.
The cutlery storage basket it made from a nice grey willow and is only £6.99 from The Contemporary Home.

Crochet lined basket
I’m rather taken by this basket, which is designed for putting your laundry in.
The hand-woven basket has been nicely lined with white cotton and finished off with a crochet trim. The lining will prevent any pieces of the basket getting accidentally snagged on your clothes. Use it as a practical way of storing your laundy ready for washing, or to bring the freshly laundered items back in from the washing line.
Of course, you don’t just need to use it for washing – with its pretty lining, this basket would work well for all sorts of storage requirements.
The washing basket is sold by Laura Ashley and it’s currently in their sale for £25.20 (was £40).
