Easter seasonal home decoration ideas

Easter tree

Do you decorate your home for Easter?

So many people take Christmas home decorations for granted, yet overlook Easter completely. If you’re celebrating, then it’s a nice idea to add a few decorations to your home to help you get into the Easter spirit.

Take this Easter tree, for example. Not only is it a great representation of spring, but it’s got the potential to be adorned with a few pretty Easter decorations and can be used year after year.

The Easter tree is available from John Lewis, as are lots of Easter decorations. Alternatively, you could fill the boughs of your tree with homemade seasonal decorations, or Easter goodies your children have made.

Silver and white Christmas decorations xmas

Dainty snowy paper tree

The icy look, of silver and white trees and decorations, is a popular choice for seasonal decorating. We’ve already highlighted one snowy paper tree that comes pre-lit, but here’s another lovely option.

This snowy paper tree is 160cm tall and looks like it’s been dusted with a sprinkling of snow and plucked straight out of a forest. Its branches are dainty, but there’s still plenty of space to be able to hang baubles or other Christmas tree decorations on it.

The snowy paper tree costs £50 from Next. The baubles shown on the tree are part of a 50 piece mixed set and are only £10.

Other silver and ice decorations are available from Next to complete the look.

Fed up with tinsel? Here’s a nice alternative to add to your Christmas tree – bunting.

The mini red and white bunting is the perfect size to add to a tree. It comes in 5.2 metre lengths, which contain 54 flags, so it’s a great length to fill the branches with colour and interest.

The Christmas tree bunting costs £9.99 and can be purchased from The Contemporary Home.

Silver Christmas decoration ideas

Silver pine cone

I love pine cones and have been collecting some over the last few weeks.

My plan is to either spray the tips of them silver or gold to have on display at Christmas or (ie if I run out of time/forget to buy something to spray them with) just have them in a natural state in a bowl on display at Christmas.

To add into the mix, I’ve just spotted this rather lovely silver metal pine cone decoration. It has a thin leather strap on it, so is perfect for hanging up in your home, or I’m sure I could pop it into my bowl of pine cones to add an extra bit of shine and textural interest.

The silver pine cone is £10 from Nordic Elements. The little silver acorn shown hanging alongside it, which is equally lovely, and costs £7.50.

Sagaform red heart bowl and spoon

Red heart bowl Valentine's Day present

Heart shaped bowl and spoon

We’re loving all the heart-shaped and heart-themed homeware in the shops at the moment, but they’re certainly not only suitable for Valentine’s Day romantic gestures.

Oh no, items like this lovely red heart shaped stoneware bowl, by Swedish firm Sagaform, would be great to use as a serving bowl any time of the year. It comes with an eco friendly bamboo spoon (they call it a ladle, but we think it’s definitely more spoon-like), which is also heart shaped and fits into the bowl perfectly.

The Sagaform heart bowl is £35 from John Lewis.
