Charity table
Not only is this a rather nice pink, lacquered table, but it’s also helping raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
As part of the annual Breast Cancer Awareness month, various retailers have special products available with donations on sales going to the charity. One of the items on offer at M&S is this pink Staten table.
Made in Italy and finished with a glossy lacquer, it’s sure to add a splash of colour into a room. The Autograph Staten table costs £199 from M&S.
Check out more products from various retailers that include a donation to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

Gorgeous love seat
Isn’t this patchwork bench lovely?
In terms of style and design, it reminds us a lot of the famed Plumo Kimono bench that everyone was lusting after a year or so ago. Like the Kimono bench, the Romany love seat is upholstered in a patchwork style, with a mix of colourful floral red and pink fabrics.
The feet are very similar to the Kimono bench too, as it’s finished off with lacquered legs, although this time in black, not red.
It’s a lovely piece of furniture and very striking. You could use it in a bedroom as an occasional seat, in your living room or even in a hall.
The Romany love seat is available to purchase from The French Bedroom Company and costs £285.

Hidden storage awaits...
Wouldn’t this sideboard look right at home in a country cottage?
Oozing with charm and rustic appeal, the sideboard is not quite as it seems at first glance.
Made to look like a draftsman style chest with 14 small drawers, in reality it consists of two deep drawers at the top and two large cupboards at the bottom – a much more functional home storage solution.
The Larkin pine sideboard is back in stock at Graham and Green. They also sell a larger three door pine Larkin sideboard for those that need more space.
The bird cage lamp seen displayed on top of the sideboard is also available to purchase at Graham and Green.

- Functional kitchen storage
I really like the novelty factor of this kitchen storage unit – it’s so unusual to have the scoop features built into it.
The handpainted storage unit, which would be perfect for a cosy home, is designed and made by Ella’s Kitchen Company, in Shropshire. The storage unit features a tall shelf (a good height for putting cookery books on, tall jugs or vases), a top shelf, some hangers at the bottom (great for tea towels) and the five scoops in the middle.
The scoops provide the perfect place for you to store dry kitchen ingredients that you frequently use, like flour for baking homemade bread, rice, sugar or pasta.
Although ideal for use in the kitchen, it would work equally well in other rooms of your home, including utility rooms (great for keeping clothes pegs or washing powder in), in a study or home office (just think of the stationery items you could store in the scoops!) or for storage in children’s bedrooms.
The five scoop kitchen storage unit is available in this lovely ‘snow cloud’ colour (soft grey) or Norwegian blue, and can be purchased from Ella’s Kitchen Company.

Rosy knitted rocking chair
The work of knitted furniture designer, Melanie Porter, was recently featured on Fresh Design Blog and we couldn’t help noticing this lovely knitted rocking chair in her collection.
The rocking chair has been restored, re-upholstered and given a white high gloss paint finish, before colourful hand knitted and hand felted panels have been added to create a ‘sweater’ style cover.
The chair is unique and individual, and looks like a comfortable seat to sit and relax in after a busy day.
The Rosy hand knit rocking chair can be purchased from Melanie Porter’s store on Not On The High Street.

Three gorgeous chairs, three tempting colours….which would you choose?
There’s the fresh turquoise blue, stunning vibrant pink or soft spring green. All three of the Chailey chairs are upholstered in luxurious velvet, with a button back finish, and have contrasting black wooden legs.
The chair design is by Elizabeth Stanhope and is reminiscent of the classic boudoir chairs. One of these beauties would be perfect as a luxurious bedroom chair, for use as a focal point of furniture in a living room or even as an occasional chair in a hall or large landing.
You can find all three of the Chailey button back velvet chairs at Amara.

Relax on this day bed
Doesn’t this look like the most perfect way to relax out in the sun on a warm day?
Designed for use out in the garden (although it could just as easily be used indoors as well), this patio day bed is made from dark brown rattan and is fitted with a fabric canopy, so your head can remain protected from the full force of the sun.
The day bed comes with a comfortable base cushion, plus five square cushions for you to arrange as you choose. Although it’s designed for use in the garden, it isn’t waterproof, so is best covered up or moved inside when the weather takes a turn for the worse.
The rattan patio day bed with canopy is currently on special offer at Argos, with £175 off the usual price (was £599.99, now £424.99). So buy it now, before the price goes up again!

Decorative screen
If you’ve got a large room where you want to divide the space temporarily, or an area of a room that you’d like to partition off (or hide clutter!), then a portable screen that you can move around as you wish is perfect.
This lovely wooden screen, with its hand carved lattice work design, has four well sized sections for all your screening needs.
It folds down easily when it’s not in use and the white colour and lattice work panels help bring light into a room (although dark and solid screens work well in some rooms, they can also make a room appear darker than it is).
The hand carved wooden decorative screen is available from Graham and Green and costs £299.

Black lacquer coffee table
Coffee tables that provide storage underneath are fantastic for storing magazines, newspapers, toys and books and ensuring you can always clear off the top surface in a flash and hide it underneath if unexpected visitors arrive!
This black lacquer Canton coffee table from Lombok is a good size (120cm by 80cm by 45cm) and has a nice sturdy shelf underneath for all your storage needs.
The table is handcraftd from hardwood American ash, which is lacquered in black and given a slight distressed effect.
Along the top of the table are a few small inscribed brass panels, which give the table an Eastern feel (these could easily be covered over with coasters or a small table runner if you’re not so keen on them).
The Canton coffee table currently has £100 off the usual price in the Lombok sale (ends Mon 24th January), so is now priced at £295.

Mirror table with drawers
A good piece of mirrored furniture makes me drool. It’s something that needs to be used in moderation, but a few select pieces can look stunning in a room, not least as they add extra light and reflections to a dark corner.
The sale continues at Laura Ashley, and they’ve now added an extra 10% off existing sale prices. The Gatsby range of mirrored furniture all has further reductions, including this mirrored side table with drawers, which has now has 55% off the original price.
Described as a bedside table, the piece has three really useful drawers where you could store your bedside reading or other clutter, and it’s finished off with dark feet.
Originally priced at £350, the Gatsby side table is now only £175 at Laura Ashley.
Other pieces in the Gatsby mirrored range include a chest of drawers (now £500), an elegant dressing table (now £287.50), a small chest of drawers (now £450) and a tall chest of drawers (£400).
