Purple embroidered velvet cushion from M&Co

Purple velvet cushion

Purple velvet cushion

We’re loving all of the rich purple colours that are featuring in the home decorating and interiors palette for autumn/winter.

A shop we don’t normally think to look in for home ideas (probably as our local branch doesn’t have a home section) is M&Co. Their website carries a good range of home products and we couldn’t help but spot this luxurious looking purple velvet cushion.

The square cushion (it measures 43cm by 43cm) is made from soft purple velvet with a contrasting gold embroidered flower design on the front. As cushions go, it’s reasonably priced at only £14. It would look great used on a sofa or bed and we bet it would be ideal for snuggling up with on a chilly winter day. The purple velvet cushion is available online from M&Co.

Bargain 3D four flower cushion

Bargain sale price soft furnishings contemporary cushion

Gorgeous dimensional cushion

This is one of the cushions I’ve loved all year, thanks to its funky three dimensional effect. The front of the square cushion is made up of four large 3D flowers and it’s lovely and soft to the touch, as it’s made from 80% wool.

I’m surprised this cushion hasn’t sold out long before now, but I’m very glad, as it’s now half price in the M&S summer sale. It was priced at £35 but is now only £17 – and it will soon be mine!

If you’ve been hankering after any homewares, or fancy updating your cushions, then head over to the M&S sale and check out the bargains.

Birds on a wire cushion

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Patchwork bird cushion

Patchwork bird cushion

Although relatively simple in design, this square cushion is made more interesting by the use of patchwork effect birds. Sitting on three wires, the birds are made from a mixture of fabrics, creating a colourful look.

The cushions are handmade to order by Kindred Rose, so you can request certain colours if you wish, otherwise I quite fancy a random selection. It’s made from 100% cotton, filled with a feather pad and the cover can be easily removed for washing.

Fun floral fabric

Fun floral fabric

Isn’t this a fun fabric design? I think it’s perfect for adding some summer colour into my home.

The design features modern colour block, striped and outlined flowers in zesty colours, such as hot pink, lime green, red and aqua.

The Ab Fab Tropicana curtain fabric is available from Terry’s Fabrics for only £8.99 a metre. As well as curtains, I’d like to make matching cushions too.
