Danish mugs
If you love classic blue and white china, then these Danish Skagen mugs are sure to appeal.
They differ from many mug designs, as they don’t have handles. As a bonus, this means they stack really well together and can take up less space in a small kitchen cupboard.
The blue and white stripe Skagen mugs cost only £6 each from Very Nice Things.

Linda Bloomfield specialises in making hand-thrown porcelain tableware. Her distinctive pieces are simple and organic in shape, but very tactile (you’ll want to use them, rather than put them on display), and there are some special elements to the designs, such as a dimple added to the side of a bottle.
All of these pieces are finished with neutral satin matt glazes and some have colour inside them.
The dimpled bottle, which would be perfect to use as a milk jug, costs £21, the tall pouring bottle is £22 and the lovely organic teapot is £50.
Check out Linda Bloomfield’s store on Not On The High Street for more of her handmade ceramics.

These lovely pieces of hand painted ceramic tableware would be perfect for a cosy home.
The Leaf collection of tableware is designed and created by Katrin Moye, who was inspired by the leaves on the birch tree in her garden; the pieces are produced by ECP Design Ltd.
The collection of tableware is available in either a cream or sage background, both of which work equally well – they also look good mixed and matched together. Amongst the pieces available, you’ll find the cream leaf toast rack (£19), cream leaf egg cup (£4.50 – and the perfect Easter gift!), a medium sized cream leaf jug (£22), the sage leaf sugar bowl (£11) and the cream leaf butter dish, which has the matching design inside too (£29).
Katrin also produces a range of watercolour greetings cards featuring these designs, and others, from her tableware collections.
For more details, or to purchase these ceramic homeware pieces, visit Katrin Moye Designs shop.

These lovely vintage postcard style ceramic plates and bowls would go well with the vintage postcard placemat we featured previously.
The postcard on the plate features the words, “Best thing since sliced bread,” and the one on the inside of the bowl aptly says, “All gone.”
The vintage postcard design ceramics are well priced at only £4.60 each from This Is Pretty.

White pottery dish
This lovely white vintage pottery plate was designed by Wedgwood and dates back to the 1950s.
The plate is embossed with a classic vine leaf design and has a distinctive edge to it. Whether you’d use it for vintage tea parties, or simply for decorative display purposes, the white colour adds to its timeless appeal.
The Wedgwood vine leaf plate is in great condition and costs £24.61 from Steptoes Dog Vintage Wares.

Vintage cake stands
We love a good bargain and one great site where you can hunt for vintage homeware and home accessories is Preloved.
Specialising in second hand goods, the site offers free advertising for members and has listings for a wide range of items.
We had a browse around the Furniture and Fittings section and came across this pair of vintage cake stands. It’s nice to be able to find a matching pair in good condition and they seem reasonably priced at £30 (ONO) for the pair.

This lovely set of three heart shaped plates, in graduated sizes, has been exclusively made for The White Company.
The stylish white heart tableware is made from soft matte glaze porcelain and has a subtle texture to it.
The Portobello heart plates come as a set of three, measuring 28cm, 19cm and 13cm in size, and cost £35 per set from The White Company.
They’d be perfect for serving a special Valentine’s Day dinner from, as well as for romantic meals the rest of the year!

If you like vintage style china and hosting tea parties, then you may want to check out The Orchard’s Vintage Tea Party collection.
The glazed ceramic china pieces, in the soft pastel colous of pink, cream and blue, includes items such as milk jugs, sugar bowls, side plates, bowls, tea cups (although I’d personally have preferred these if they had saucers), serving bowls and a tea pot.
All the pieces are made from glazed china, which has been aged to give it a vintage look, and the added detail of ornate edging finishes them off nicely.
A whole set of vintage tea party ceramics would work out as quite pricey (although maybe nice for a joint wedding present idea?), but I think the pieces would work equally well mixed and matched with existing china, especially if you’re fond of an eclectic look.
The full range of the Vintage Tea Party china available from The Orchard is as follows:
Milk jugs -£8
Sugar bowls - £11.50
Bowls – £8
Tea cups - £8.50
Side plates – £8
Teapot – £20.50
Serving plate – £20.50
Serving bowl – £20.50
