Hang your towels on a ladder
Isn’t this a quirky towel rail for a bathroom?
This wooden towel rail is made from an antique fruit picking ladder, which has been rejuvenated and painted in a delicate pale grey colour.
If you’re looking for something different to a modern wall mounted towel rail, then this ladder is a great alternative. Even better is the fact that it isn’t permanently fixed to a wall – you can move it around as you choose and just prop it against the wall.
It doesn’t necessarily have to be used in a bathroom either; we think it might be nice used in a guest room to hang guest towels on.
The antique ladder towel rail is available to purchase from Pale and Interesting, where it’s priced at £140.

Luxury towels
Nothing beats getting out of a relaxing warm bath into a big fluffy, soft towel (especially when it’s been warmed on the radiator first).
If you’re looking to add a bit of luxury into your bathroom, then these Egyptian cotton towels are 700gsm (heavier than many towels) and have a lovely soft, deep pile on them.
The bath towels come in white, grey and nude colours, which work well in a range of bathrooms, and can be purchased in four sizes, from hand towel to jumbo bath sheet (plus a matching face cloth).
A Eucalyptus Egyptian cotton bath towel costs £20, a bath sheet is £28 and the super jumbo size is £40, from The White Company.

Handmade shelf and kitchen roll holder
Alison Capeling got in touch via Twitter to let us know about her shop and products. The online store and shop in Truro sell a variety of lovely home interiors and accessories, focusing on country style and coastal living.
Alison designs furniture too, which is handmade by carpenter, Phil. We love the idea of this functional kitchen shelf, which has a built in kitchen roll holder shelf below, on which you can also hang tea towels or kitchen towels. Shown here in vintage lime white, the shelf is also available pale sage, white or French Grey, and is made to order.
There’s also a practical shelf available for the bathroom, with useful pegs underneath the shelf.
For more details about the handmade kitchen roll holder shelf, or to discover lots more inspiring home furniture and accessories, check out Alison Capeling’s website.

Rose pattern bin
At first glance, this looks like a rose patterned storage jar, but on closer inspection, it’s actually a pedal bin.
Who knew a bin could be so pretty? It’s the perfect finishing touch for a country style kitchen or bathroom.
You’ll find the roses pedal bin at An Angel At My Table.

Spotty towels
Towels and other accessories are a great way of adding colour into the bathroom, especially as they can easily be changed if you decide to introduce a new colour scheme.
This set of blue and white polka dot towels would be ideal if you’d like a bit of colour in your bathroom, but don’t want to go overboard on it. Some of the towels are left plain white, whilst others have various bluey shades of polka dots on them. You could use them all at once, to create a mix and match approach, mix them with other blue towels or simply have the matching towels in use at any one time.
The Christy towel bale set consists of six pieces – two bath towels, two hand towels and two face cloths – and it benefits from being significantly reduced in the Debenhams homeware sale. It started off life as costing £50 and is now only £15.

Beautifully decorated rose soap
We’ve been watching Kirstie’s Homemade Christmas, on Channel 4, with interest and were rather pleased to see Jenny, from the lovely Odds and Suds, making soap with Kirstie.
We featured Odds and Suds in October and are big fans of their soaps, so if you’re interested in seeing more of their products, do go and check them out.
If you’ve got time to have a go with making your own soap, then there’s a recipe here.
Tomorrow night (Thurs 10th December) Kirstie’s set to be making more homemade goodies, like chocolate truffles. If this is more your cup of tea, then check out the review of Life is Sweet on Fresh Design Blog, as it’s packed full of ideas for gorgeous sweets and chocolate to make at home.
For more on Kirstie’s Homemade Christmas antics, have a read of Hygge Nook’s live blog.

Every home needs a basket
We can’t think of a single home that couldn’t benefit from a basket or two (or seven).
Toys, blankets, spare toiletries – baskets store anything and everything.
Park it in the bedroom, bathroom, toy room or lounge and you have something signficantly more stylish than the ubiquitous plastic box. What’s not to love about them?
Zara Home sells these vegetable fibre west baskets for £19.90 each.

Silver plated beaker by Côté Bastide
This stylish silver plated beaker, by Côté Bastide, is a lovely decorative French accessory for your home.
It would be elegant used as a vase (as in the picture), with a few choice stems or blooms. Or you could use it in a chic bathroom, to house your toothbrushes or make-up brushes, or even on your desk, to hold your favourite pens. If you’re not buying it for yourself, it would also make a lovely gift.
The silver plated beaker is available to purchase from Bodie and Fou, for £28.50.
