Top ten homeware stocking fillers under £20

Tra la la, tra la la, tra la la la…….Here at Cosy Home, we’re busy getting into the festive spirit. Here’s what we’re hoping to find in our stocking on Christmas morning (and we’ve been really good this year, Santa…..).

1. Luigi spoon rest, Koziol

Just one Cornetto…..this cute spoon rest is styled on a gondola, with the spoon providing the pole. It’s practical as well as adorable, and will keep dirty spoons neatly out of the way between uses – just stir and prop. Was £19.20 now £18.50, available from Red Candy.

2. Hawthorn tree mug, Small Island

From Irish craft and design company Small Island comes this bone china mug showing a windswept hawthorn tree.  A lovely hand drawn image suggestive of the West of Ireland and the strong Atlantic breeze which shapes the trees there, it costs £9.

3. Decorative glazed bowls, House Doctor

These ceramic bowls have an attractive layered glaze pattern which is unique to each piece. While these are perfect for serving food they are nice enough to simply live on a coffee table or console, filled with pot pourri or bits and bobs. 4. Stag apron, the Glasgow School of Art

Be monarch of the glen, and the kitchen! With a modern take on traditional tartan and neutral palette this apron makes an ideal gift for any keen chef. 5. Ceramic bee jug, Kate Thorburn

This cute little bee jug  from Kate Thorburn Ceramics is designed in the heart of the UK potteries. It’s perfect for holding cream, or maybe a posy of flowers in the spring. £16, available from What Kate Loves.

6. Floral hot water bottle, Rice DK

 A sweet soft cotton fabric cover with a floral and face design and a hot water bottle ready to use inside, this will keep you cosy all through the winter. Also available in pink. £19, from Sisters Guild.

7. Vintage floral padded coat hangar, Aurina

Padded coat hangers are ideal for storing delicate knitwear, or anything that might stretch or sag on an ordinary hangar. This one comes with a cute little heart motif, and costs £7.95 from Aurina.

8. Retro Bakelite alarm clocks, Rigby & Mac

These happy little retro alarm clocks with glow in the dark hands will be sure to wake you up with a smile. Available in ivory, red and green, they take one AA battery which isn’t included, so remember to buy it separately! £10.95, available from Rigby & Mac.

9. Set of four tealight holders, LSA International

Adding warm tones to your home or table setting, these co-ordinating coloured glass tealight holders in warm winter shades of purple and berry are supplied with tealights. £14.95 for the set, available from Annabel James.

10. Square butterfly cushion, Neema Crafts

The hand-screen printed linen fabric of this cushion is sewn at a workshop in Tanzania which employs people with disabilities.  It comes complete with a feather pad, and costs £19.50 from Neema Crafts.
