Store your treasures in style

Store your treasures in style

For someone who has a lot of bits and pieces, this This’n That box is the perfect way of displaying my treasures.

In a white shabby chic style, the box features lots of compartments to store all your goodies. There are six small cube compartments, two small rectangular compartments, five larger rectangular areas and one full length compartment at the front. The lid is topped with glass, so all your bits and pieces will be protected from dust and damage, and the lid is hinged for easy opening.

I’ve already got a list of ideas of what I’d put in mine – what would you use it for?

The This’n That storage box is available from Graham and Green.

Coco Rain handmade cushions

Friday, March 19th, 2010

CR-owl-family-cushion

We’ve only recently discovered Coco Rain, but have fallen in love with a number of their fabulous cushions. If you like owls, birds, cupcakes or cherry tarts, pretty colours, handmade products and quirky designs, then we’re sure you’ll find these cushions equally delightful.

The owl family cushion – with three owls perched on a branch, features applique and embroidery and the cushion itself measures 43cm by 43cm. It’s 100% cutton and comes complete with a luxury feather filled cushion. It’s £25.

CR-cupcakes-cushion

The Coco Rain cupcakes cushion is long and slender in design (33cm by 50cm), with four tasty looking embroidered and appliqued cupcakes on the front. This one is priced at £20.

CR-pretty-birdies-cushion

This cushion is very aptly named pretty birdies! Lots of colourful fabric birds, plus a few flowers, are perched on a cherry blossom branch. The cushion is nicely edged with fabric and measures 33cm by 43cm. It’s £20.

CR-cherry_tarts_cushion

Here’s another cushion that will get your taste buds tingling – the cherry tarts cushion features nine cherry tarts that look good enough to eat. The cushion measures 30cm by 30cm and, like all the others in the range, comes filled, so you can get it into use straight away. This one costs £18.

These are just a few of our favourites - there are lots more gorgeous cushions available from Coco Rain on Not On The High Street, plus other nice homewares, so why not go and take a look?

Crafty storage

Crafty storage

This great little house shaped storage box is perfect for keeping all your sewing kit and other crafty bits and bobs in.

The fabric covered sewing basket is shaped and decorated like a house, with windows, a front door and tiled roof details. Inside, it has a compartmentalised tray and elasticated pouch, for storing all your threads, needles, pins and scissors.

The house sewing box measures 24cm by 18cm by 19cm. It would make a perfect gift for new or seasoned crafters or sewers, or be a nice treat for yourself!

Cath Kidston also do a range of other sewing and knitting accessories, such as the ever faithful button tin, which keeps appearing in different designs (I have a lovely floral one), their pin tins and thread tins.

If you enjoy browsing through the Cath Kidston magazine for ideas and inspiration, but haven’t been able to get a copy of the latest issue, then you’ll pleased to know that you can now read it online here.

Pretty floral stacking egg cups

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Unusual egg cups

Unusual egg cups

Egg cups are often a bit awkard for storing, as they don’t easily stack inside each other. These unusually shaped egg cups get over that problem really well as they’re designed to successfully stack together, so you’ll never have egg cups falling over in your cupboard again.

What’s more, they’re decorated nicely too. We love the pink roses floral design, but they’re  also availble in a turquoise bird design. The egg cups are made from bone china and were created by designer Hannah Tofalos.

The stacking egg cups are sold by Patchwork Harmony, who are now on the hugely popular Not On The High Street. If you want to give the egg cups as a gift, you’ll be pleased to know that the cost includes free gift wrap.
